Astrology for Self-Discovery

Astrology is an ancient and esoteric science that can assist and guide an individual through self-growth and evolution. It is a study of the planets and where they are in the sky at any given moment in time. Through looking at a person’s date, time and place of birth we can explore and uncover important knowledge and information that answers the above questions, and more. It is truly a journey of self-discovery.

Colleen Lemma is an internationally known intuitive reader, astrologer, life coach, certified hypnosis and past life regression consultant, Reiki energy healer, and spiritual teacher.

Currently, her Astrology for Self-Discovery Curriculum includes seven courses that cover the Basics, the Houses, the Planets, Aspects, Solar Returns, Transits, and Progression. Each 8-week (16 hours) course builds the students' understanding of astrology and their skill level. Completion of Astrology for Self-Discovery Levels 1-7 equals a total of 112 hours of study.

“Transits” involve a method of interpreting the ongoing movement of the planets as they move through the heavens, or the astrological chart of a person, country, event or situation. They are the main way that we forecast future trends, developments and circumstances unfolding in the world and in one’s life.

In this 8-week course you will learn:
* What a transiting planet is - how to define it
* How to recognize where a transiting planet is located in the astrological chart
* How to define the different types of transits and their effects
* What the orb for each transit is, and what they mean for you in your personal chart
* How a transit effects those on a collective level
Included in the course are the transits of Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Chiron, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Sun, Moon and the North and South Nodes.

* Further details on the components of the chart wheel
* Further details on the angles, hemispheres & quadrants
* The meaning of intercepted houses in the astrological chart
* The meaning of empty houses in the astrological chart

“Aspects” is the term for the connections between planets, asteroids, angles, or points in an astrological chart. They show how the energies of these planetary bodies and points in the chart work together, and they show potentials for actions, events, or internal processes within the soul.

In this 16 hour course you will learn:

* How to recognize these aspects in the astrological chart
* How to define these aspects and understand their meaning
* The orb used for each of the major aspects
* Beginning interpretation of the aspects in your chart

A Solar Return Chart is another name for one’s yearly Birthday Chart. This is a chart that is created when your natal Sun returns to the exact degree and minute that it was at the time of your birth.
It provides a wealth of information and is a great tool that can help us assess and predict the themes that will arise for you during your “Solar Return Year.” It shows both potential as well as possible challenges. It gives us an idea what the focus will be from your birthday until your next birthday.
In this 12 hour course you will learn:

* How a solar return chart is calculated,
* How to interpret the themes in a solar return chart for the birthday year
* The significance of the Moon in a solar return chart, and more!

“Progressions” involves a method of progressing a horoscope forward from the moment of birth (whether of a person, state or country, event or situation) into the future.
Your birth chart is like a seed that grows. And progressions can be used as a tool to bring an individual’s birth chart into the present moment. It is an extension of your birth chart. As you age and mature, so do your attitudes, thought processes, values and point of view. It is about the evolution of your soul.

In this 16 hour course you will learn:
* What a progressed planet is and the two most common types
* How to compute progressions for one’s own chart
* How to define progressions and what their orb of influence is
* What progressions mean for you personally according to your astrological birth chart
* What progressions mean on a collective level
